Want to be an Age Manager?

25/07/2021

We're looking for Age Managers for the 2021/22 season.

"Age managers use their experience and passion for youth development to mentor Nippers and facilitate fun learning programs that encourage and develop young surf lifesavers. Their goal is to enrich the lives of Nippers through the delivery of surf lifesaving knowledge and skills in a fun and safe aquatic environment."

Every age group is run by age managers and assistants, typically parents from the age group. Age managers and assistants lead the age group each week, running activities, educating and coaching the nippers. Overall it’s extremely rewarding AND a lot of fun.

Requirements:

  • Age Manager Award – which involves a training course (online or face-to-face) and some practical assessment.  Please note: If you haven't already completed your age manager training course, we will be conducting another one in October, which we will put you through.
  • Attend an Age Manager night (date TBC)
  • Active Working with Children check
  • Wanda SLSC general member at a minimum.
  • It’s a good idea for Age Managers to have their bronze medallion, but not essential. There are also optional coaching accreditation's available.
  • Age managers and assistants are provided with a shirt and cap

What's involved?

Age managers and assistants:

  • Run their age group each Sunday
  • Communicate with their age group, in person and via email, on all nipper matters
  • Attend carnivals, coordinating nipper and teams

All those who are interested, please complete this form by August 1 2021.  Age managers will be notified in the first two weeks of August.
