Attend one of our uniform and payment days - Sunday 20 November (at Nippers) or Thursday 24 November 4.30-6.30pm at Wanda:

1. Try on uniform samples and complete order form
2. Make full payment via direct debit to Wanda account by 25/11/16

Wanda Nippers at State

The SLSNSW State Championships is the state’s premier surf event, attracting more than 8000 competitors from all over the NSW along with 600 volunteer officials and up to 15,000 family and spectators.   An event program will be available at a later date – the competition is held over three full days. It requires nippers have the Friday off school.  

Each year Wanda Nippers takes a large squad to the SLSNSW Championships. Any proficient u9-u14 nipper can attend (u14 need SRC). However, it is important to know that State is a competitive event.

Events / participation

Individual events
- u9-u10 – flags, sprint, swim, board
- u11-u12 – flags, sprint, swim, board, ironperson*
- u13-u14 - flags, sprint, swim, board, ironperson*

Team events - there are a range of team events at State (eg.  relays, board rescue*, cameron etc). Selection of Wanda nippers teams for these events will be done by the Wanda Nippers selection committee in 2017. Additionally, our March Past and R&R teams will compete.

Championships entry
Once you complete the uniform order and make payment, entries are done on your behalf by Carnivals Coordinator Julie-Anne Warn.   You don’t need to enter.

Cost - $115
This includes carnival entry fee + Wanda Nippers team uniform kit (includes boardies, singlet and hat).

- cap $27

Payment
Uniform try-on can be made:

• Sunday 20 November at Nippers, Gunnamatta Bay
• Thursday 24 November 4-6pm, Wanda

Following your uniform order, payment is via direct debit to the Wanda account by 25/11/16:

IMPORTANT - All payments must be received prior to Friday 25 November. Your uniform order will not be placed without payment received.

Accommodation and travel
Accommodation and travel arrangements need to be made individually by each family. Talk to other families in your age group about where they are staying and get a group together. We encourage you to book ASAP.

Uniforms
Uniforms will be distributed at a team meeting to be scheduled prior to the State Champs in late February. There can be no refunds or exchange on uniforms, so it is the parent/guardian responsibility to provide the correct sizing.

Parent volunteers
Organising the team for the State Championships is a big job. Wanda Nippers will be expected to provide a strict ratio of volunteers to competitors, and it’s only fair this load is shared.  Jobs include:

• Water safety and IRB crew
• Officials
• Setup and pack up of age group tents daily
• Transporting gear – club boards, rescue gear, board rescue boards etc
• Wanda nippers age managers and assistants
• Wanda nippers committee/coaches/volunteers

Sydney Branch Carnival 
The Sydney Branch Championships is a compulsory carnival for any nipper in the State squad.
